India violates Pakistani Air Space with Fighter Air Crafts

On 14th Dec, 2008 India violated the Pakistani Air Space two times in the day. Indian crafts were fully equipped with all the weapons. The violations were, first one in Lahore and other one was in an area of Kashmir.

Soon after Indian Air Crafts entered in Pakistan's area the always alert Pakistan Air Force not only detected the move, they also taken immidiate action and sent Air Craft to cope with the situation.

Soon after Pakistani crafts were in Air, Indian crafts were forced to leave the Pakistani Air Space. Indian crafts were came into Pakistani Airspace about 4 KMs.

The rapid response from Pakistani Air Force showed that Pakistani Forces are always ready and capable of coping with all kind of adventurism or attacks etc.

In my opinion India need to realize its responsibilities and should be committed to resolve all Issues between India and Pakistan and should be committed to promote peace.

Wateen WiMax Wireless Broadband Pakistan

Its actually unfortunate that while having a DSL connection at home I had also to register for a backup unwired connection. And this was because of the problems in PTCL's (PSTN) lines in our area. So PTCL's service is not consistant and phone line gets down for days other than hours. In this situation specially when I work for an Australian company from home I had to make a decision a purchase a Wateen Wimax Connection.

So moving on the discussion to wateen when I got wateen indoor unit and when I connected and placed their device in my room, to my surprise there was no signal out of three. So when I talked them about an outdoor unit they offered me another option which is of having a 30 feet wire free from them and place the device outside my room. So I tried it and finally got one out of three signals. As wimax is efficient technology and works very well on even one signal, it worked very well for me.

I impressed with their service, even on one signal it works very well whole day and I dont even get one ping out whole day. The messangers keep themselves connected :-) . And its giving me 100% uptime. Didn't have rain experience uptill now but listened that service gets detoriated in rain

But still I m using this 512Kbps 4GB connection as backup of my primary 512Kbps unlimited dsl connection.

But if you are going for Wateen Wimax then don't hesitate and go for it, it overall works great.

Yeh Hum Nahin - We are not Terrorists

A Pakistani foundation against terrorism is came into existence in October 2007 is called "Yeh Hum Nahin" is translated in to english as "We are not the ones" is dedicated to

- Reinforce the point that Islam is a peaceful faith that promotes tolerance and harmony
- Develop an awareness among people regarding the issues of the growing radicalization of Pakistani youth.
- Promote better understanding and co-existence of Muslims around the world among non-Muslim communities.
- Convey that the majority of Muslims do not support the rise in terrorism, and to deny Muslims the opportunity for involvement in terrorist activities.
- Show the positive impact of Pakistan and Muslims around the world, and remove the distance between east and west through media education.

They have setup a petition which proved to be a record breaker and signed by more than 62 million people and count still is going on. Record is now being verified to include it in "Guinness book of World record". This fact is itself a prof that how much Muslims and Pakistanis hate terrorism.

If you truly hate terrorism don't waste time and visit http://www.yehhumnaheen.org to sign the petition and tell the world that we are not the terrorists and we condemn terrorism as it is harmful for the whole world.

In my opinion terrorists have no religion, they may be from any religion and region and their intentions are to harm humanity.

Pakistan in Political and Economic Crisis

Soon after elections it seem that all on going economic development is no more going on that way. Soon after the elected democratic government came into power instead of they pay attention to the issues which are critical to the well being of Pakistani people the coalition partners seem to be involved in activities to empower them selves. Soon after being elected every one as usual forgotten the promises.

Every one was in a race to throw the Musharraf out to restore so-called democracy. This all result in lack of confidence of foreign investors. Also stock exchange and worth of local currency rupee ineradicably gone down. Now after Musharraf is gone, the coalition between "Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN)" and "Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP)" broke up and they are now in race of getting the president seat. For this, former coalition parties now seem to have their own presidential election.

The general perception was that the zardari PPPP's candidate for "president" seat and x co-chairman of PPPP will be elected as they are the biggest party around. But now it seems the talks are going on between PMLN and PMLQ are going on and they can come up with a common candidate which will definitely unsettle zardari's the chance of being elected.

Anyways as described above this political instability caused the on going downfall of economy. The confidence of investors jolted and now results are the decreasing foreign exchange, no business in stock exchange and deteriorating currency.

More over the electric load shedding effected the most of industries and made the situation even bad. At least government should address this issue.

Now what I think is we can go back to the track of economic development and prosperity if the elected candidates of all parties work together and instead of letting each other down address the key issues and get country back to the economic development track.

May Allah (God) Bless us all and put us back to the track of economic development. And I have solid hopes this will be done and we will again rise.

Broadband in Pakistan - LinkDotNet

Its now been many many years that broadband internet is there in Pakistan. But this year 2008 was a real revolution into the broadband internet sector. With some new entrants like linkDotNet, Wateen Telecom and PTCL broadband to the market there are some real differences in terms of service quality and costs have been seen.

Unlike near past now in same low costs high speed internet quality services are arround. Also low speed DSL connections Like 64kbps, 128kbps, 256kbps are now out of the market and replaced with 512kbps, 1Mbps and 2Mbps connections for home users and even more highspeed connections for Business use.

Reason why I marked this post with "LinkDotNet" text is in this post I will be more concentrating on the quality services LinkDotNet providing. As described above are Wateen Telecom, PTCL broadband and also some other include NayaTel optical fiber connections and micronet broadband internet connections.

The only reason to speakout about the linkDotNet is I am using their services from Last few months and want to tell people that they simply rock. These guys are real good on technical support and also interms of quality services. Connection is almost always working and network rarely goes down, say three hours in several weeks.

What I have seen about the repute of linkDotNet, before I had aquired their services, was that they had not a very good reputation but now more people are preffering it on PTCL broadband. Anyways I am a very satasfied customer of them. Also love their billing service, they collect money from your doorstep in only rs. 30 extra charges. They simply rock.

As I am using LinkDotNet so it was kind of review about their services. If you are using some other service just add comment or send through email at khurramz84 [At] yahoo.com and your review will be added as a new post.

Thanks and all kinds of comments welcome.

Mobilink Infinity - next step wireless broadband

The Telecommunications industry leader in Pakistan (Mobilink) is about to launch new wireless broadband service, and they called it Infinity. Which will be another revolution by them. Already a firm by same group called LinkDotNet caused a revolutionary access to Broadband by offering cheap rates and good services. This service is in deployment phase and testing phase in karachi. See a Part of email sent to me by a my friend works in Mobilink's office.

We have launched our broadband services in Karachi on July 1. Congratulations to the entire Mobilink team that has enabled this successful launch.

This is a big day in the history of Mobilink – a step into providing cutting edge broadband services for our customers and enabling the next cycle of growth and opportunities for Mobilink. In a country with 165 million people, 12 million already access the internet and only 128 thousand have access to broadband. Our aim is to make this an affordable and accessible service for the masses as we have done with GSM.

Mobilink Infinity is now a full fledged operational business within Mobilink. Mobilink Infinity will provide high speed and reliable internet connectivity along with access to a landline through VoIP.

This is a soft launch and limited to Karachi . We are only selling to customers that are referred by our Mobilink employees. We are giving a very special pre-launch discount to these customers (see customer invitation and pre-launch offer letters).

Wireless providers are not doing very well in Pakistan but seems like this service will be good. Equipment is little bit expensive about 12000 Rs which is being given in 6000 Rs as introductry offer. Also as Mobilink will densify the coverage the low rate indoor units will be available soon. Just waiting for this to come in RWP and ISB.

The capital of Pakistan Islamabad

Most important place in a country is obviously its capital. Thats why I am starting the geography portion of Pakistan with the capital city Islamabad.

Islamabad is considered as very beautiful city of Pakistan, also known as the green city. It is gifted by nature with the Hills series called Margala hills. They are most beautiful and the green part of the city. Unlike other cities of Pakistan this city is properly planned city so this thing further adds into the beauty of this city.

The important thing about this city is this city was built in 1960 when capital was shifted to Islamabad. Islamabad was completely a forest at that time but now its turned into one of very beautiful city of world from no where.

Town planning done at Islamabad simply rocks. This city is properly planned to sectors and each sector then futher devided into green areas and four sub sectors with a central commercial area for each sector known as "Markaz" in local language. A map is attached showing the sectors. Also Islamabad is gifted with a Lake called Rawal Lake.

This is the city having the tall high buildings as the headquarters of the organizations in Pakistan and city having several five star hotels and world's second seven star hotel is under construction in Islamabad.

In a continuing effort to blunt the rising threat of terror groups and anti-government militants operating in the unruly tribal areas Pakistan need to increase their elite commando force. For that purpose US is helping Pakistan doing that. As Pakistanis never allow army of another country to directly operation on ground in Pakistan, they are independently dedicated to train more of military people to fight against terrorism.
In this regard US decided to help Pakistan training their elite forces to effectively fight terrorism they are facing because of being front line state in war against terrorism.

UAE as brother nation

No matter Pakistan is dealing with any Muslim or Non-Muslim Country, we have the tradition of having very good and positive international relationships. When ever any country of world is hit by any kind of natural disaster, Pakistan have always offered and provided financial support in form of goods etc and other forms of support when required. So in this way Pakistan is true ambassador of good international relationships.

Pakistan have exactly same relationships with UAE. For same reason when UAE President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahiyan was on a visit to Pakistan, 18th Jan, 2008 he said "Pakistan and the Emirates had good bilateral relations" and he added "he considered Pakistan a brother nation and always felt happy while visiting this country". Now this was really great remark for Pakistan coming from a brother Muslim nation. UAE President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahiyan also showed deep concern in the law and order situation in Pakistan, particular for the month of Muharram.

So his great remarks about Pakistan and his deep concern in Law and Order situation clearly show the very good relationships of Pakistan with our brother nation UAE. No matter which political party or entity is in power in Pakistan, Pakistan always had the policy of building good relationships with all other countries.
